Citizen Soldier Trades in Traveling the World to Capturing the World through Photos 

With a passion for God, Family and Photography, I, Connie D. Glaze, the owner of GlazePhotography1 (Photos By Glaze) traded in my officer rank and Army fatigues for a vision of capturing precious moments through the lens of my camera..

With every photo shoot  is reminded of the words of the honorable Nelson Mandela as the foundation for every event and customer that she engages. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” 

I am the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs.  Tommie Leo Scruggs, Jr., and hails from the great state of Alabama. I am a proud alumnus of “The” Alabama State University, where upon graduation was commissioned in the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. Connie protected and defended my country at duty stations throughout the United States and overseas in Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan retiring in 2016 with honor and distinction. Upon retirement, I began a second career with the Federal Government; earning a Master of Business Art (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix and holds an Executive Masters Certificate in Advance Negotiation and Conflict Management from the University of Notre Dame.  

During my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends; and serving in the Prince William County community through social organizations. I am the proud wife of Mr. Xavier L. Glaze and we both share three gifts from God: Christian (23), Xavier Jr. (19) and Xenavia (13).
